We would like to put together a panel discussion about this as part of our Digital Ship 2002 maritime security day in London on November 4. If you are interested in participating then please contact us. ___ DIGITAL SHIP 2002 : NOVEMBER 4-6 2002 http://www.thedigitalship.com/digitalship2002.htm At Digital Ship, we are lucky to get to hear about the most exciting new technologies in the maritime industry. Its good fun; we'd like to invite the maritime industry to our offices so you can get to hear about it. The problem is that our offices are a bit small, so we thought it made more sense to run a conference, where you can come and hear for yourselves about the most exciting new developments. Our three day conference in London on November 4-6 is focussed on innovative information technology with the potential to provide real benefits to the maritime industry. We have one day on technology that improves security, one day on software and systems integration and one day on ship-shore communication. It promises to be an exciting event. If you're interested in seeing the latest developments, or see a commercial business advantage to using the most effective technology ahead of your competitors, you need to be at Digital Ship 2002. We hope to see you there. ___ DIGITAL SHIP SINGAPORE http://www.thedigitalship.com/singapore.htm December 12-13 2002, Singapore How can software and ship-shore communications provide the most benefit to the shipping industry? ___ THE VIRTUAL BOX: INTEGRATION IN THE CONTAINER SHIPPING SUPPLY CHAIN http://www.thedigitalship.com/containershipping.htm September 18-19, 2002, Hamburg ** just two more days left to book ** ** ADVERTISEMENT ** NautiCast Transponder, X-Pack DS to be seen in action at SMM! It will be marketed by ship supplier Drew Marine, under the trade name "RealMarine Solutions." Wallem developed its e-procurement system in-house. Development began in 1997, five years ago, making Wallem's system probably the oldest established maritime e-procurement system on the market. The system has already handled over 100,000 transactions for Wallem. The system will continue to be developed by Wallem, mainly though its information technology subsidiary DevCo in the Philippines, and Drew will market it to the maritime industry. Wallem will continue to take a close involvement. At this point RealMarine does not have any dedicated employees; everybody involved with it is either working mainly for Wallem or Drew. One of the first marketing tactics Drew will use is to burn 3,000 CDs of the software. It will try to get these CDs to ships and encourage them to install the software and try it out. Of course, all of the development costs for the system have already been paid by Wallem, which has also reaped benefits which justify the costs. _____ Heidenreich Innovations launches Internet based commercial management system www.efleetwatch.com Heidenrich Innovations Inc. has launched an internet based commercial management system EFleetWatch for the shipping industry in the form of a password accessed online service.
