marinet articles Bjorn Berger DNV Software Veritas NO-1322 Hovik NORWAY SEND ARTICLE Review meeting on December 3rd there is a proposal on the table for activites next year will probaly take it to a different forum we don't know yet how its going to be there will be some continuation of some forum it will be more business orientated we actually looking at in detail at the businesses of the shipping owners what they are after more operational issues being disussed we're trying to build on what we've done this year docking that could be something it will be focussed around use of internet technology satellite communications and internet across that, XML standards, anything to do with that i can't really say anything more we'll see, the cases will be presented by the partners themselves we are looking for extending it to more norwegian partners we don't know what we'll do outside norway its still a norwegian initative, we'll limit the companies at this stage we'd like to expand with more norwegian companies, the more norwegian companies we get we'll come to the conference in hamburg and talk about that more i talked to stein in hamburg we're trying to co-ordinate ourselves its a bit untraditional project very little reports being written, we tried to show give our message across in demonstrators, that we speak about it the project will be a bit different from a traditionl research funded project it gives we tried to look at the whole long distance process and cover it all that's sort of the challeneges we had by doing ship shore component of the docking bit we just say that we will use the same approach we have a Fleet 77 installation at Hoevik, that will continue to work next year we will do more testing when we have the application we made for writing the documentation / specification that was done on the ipmlemtnation to pick up information from the planned maintenance systems by using this we could communicate with the ship, they could all be involved in working on the cheque instead of sitting on one side, writing it, they could all view the specification online on we'll see what we do, we'll probbaly just continue working we don't really know yet how we're going to kick
