New software system operational at Zeeland Seaport
(May 21 2009)
The new Port Management Information System and Port Community System supplied by HITT Traffic (and sister company Klein Systems Group) to Zeeland Seaports has became operational, according to the companies.
The PortXcs system allows for the handling of ship and cargo information and the exchange of data between the various parties inside and outside the port.
It supports the full administrative process and planning of ships and cargo in the port of Zeeland, the second largest seaport in the Netherlands, and facilitates messaging between the port, shipping agents, and traffic management systems.
This messaging communications option is also expected to shortly be extended to pilots, service providers and customs working in the area.
“We are proud of the results we have reached so far with the execution of this project," said Gaston Suy, project manager PortXcs at Zeeland Seaports.
"[This is] an important step towards the improvement of the administrative processes of Zeeland Seaports. This process will continue in the coming period."
