Get the first sunshine in 2008 with a trip to Digital Ship Cyprus on Feb 5-6 in Limassol, organised in association with Cyprus Shipping Council.
This is a free conference and exhibition (*) for shipping company employees, to learn about the latest technologies for maritime satellite communications, software and electronics, and how they are helping shipping companies meet their toughest challenges, including recruiting and retaining competent and motivated crew.
Get in-depth insight into new services such as Inmarsat's FleetBroadband, launched November 2007, offering ships an affordable 432 kbps satellite connectivity, and Blue Ocean Wireless, which enables seafarers to use their GSM phones at an affordable price, without interfering with the existing ship's satcom, or requiring large additional satcom investments.
The conference will include insight from shipping companies about their experiences with electronic purchasing, maintenance systems, remote monitoring, electronic charts.
Digital Ship Cyprus is well supported by the local shipping community; the IT managers of the largest shipmanagement companies in Cyprus will be speaking or chairing, including Columbia, Hanseatic, Intership, Unicom, Reederei Nord, Marlow Navigation.
