Inmarsat Fleet Broadband training
Staff from Inmarsat in London will provide first hand training about FleetBroadband, the new satellite communications system being launched later this year over Inmarsat's new satellites, promising much faster data rates and lower costs per kilobit. Try out the land mobile equipment already developed for the new satellites.
Following our successful launch Digital Ship event in Dubai in 2006, we will be running Digital Ship Dubai / Tanker Operator Dubai in April 17-18, in the famous Jumeirah Beach hotel, Dubai, under the shadow of the Burj al Arab.
The first day (Digital Ship) will cover information technology in ship operations, including satellite communications, software and electronic purchasing; the second day (Tanker Operator) will focus on tanker operations systems and how they are evolving from ISM to TMSA and beyond.
There will be a barbecue on the beach for all participants on the evening of April 17th, sponsored by Inmarsat.

PARALLEL SESSION APRIL 18 - TANKER OPERATOR SESSION - EVOLUTION IN TANKER OPERATIONS

For more information about the Tanker Operator conference click here.
Tanker Operator conference main sponsor

A one day conference about how systems for tanker operations are evolving. Tanker operators have many new systems to help them, including TMSA (as a framework and incentive for continuous improvement), condition monitoring, competency assessment, reporting and company communications tools. At the same time, they face many new pressures - increasing pressures from oil majors for new and different approaches to risk management; the need to train staff up much quicker to higher levels of competence; and demands for new highly trained crew, to work on new gas tankers and product tankers to carry gasoline.
This one day conference is a forum for senior safety, technical, operations and personnel managers of tanker companies, to discuss and learn about some of the systems being implemented to meet these challenges. Is TMSA and evolution of ISM, and how well does it work?
Chair: Dimitris Lyras, director, Lyras Shipping
