  BIMCO http://www.bimco.dk World's largest shipowner's organisation with legal, regulatory, and safety information  BIMCO is the world’s largest shipping association, its over 1000 owner-members representing around 60% of the international dry cargo and tanker fleet. BIMCO’s work involves aiding the development of international standards, creating legal shipping documentation, and providing information. BIMCO representation, for resolution of legal matters, disputes or collection of debts is available free to members. On-line, there is a huge range of information available, however much of it is password protected and only open to members. The site is very popular, receiving over 3.5 million visits per year. Free information includes recent news and a news archive, an events calendar, a list of BIMCO speeches and a BIMCO publications, courses and software index. Members have access to the BIMCO yellow pages, a free advertising service and a wide range of databases including details required for voyage planning, preparation of port calls and post-fixture work. The port database contains details of over 2,500 ports including up to date port conditions, while the port cost estimator is an active spreadsheet allowing members to calculate the costs of calling at ports in more than 60 countries based on actual tariffs and regulations. There is plenty more, covering trade restrictions, ice conditions, BIMCO approved shipping documents and charter party clauses, technical issues information such as hazardous labels, IMO requirements, GMDSS etc., and a membership directory.
