Cargolaw
http://www.cargolaw.com high data!
Virtual encyclopedia of cargo shipping events
An eclectic mix of the serious and the entertaining, making this one of the most interesting sites to browse in this guide. There is always something new here, scrolling down you'll be amazed at the depth of the information available here.
At the top you can find a photo gallery of cargo loss, a comprehensive listing of recent losses and pirate attacks, and a little way down the 24 hour industry news section. The services of the firm that hosts the site, The Law Offices of Countryman & McDaniel, are of course presented, and there are resources for transportation and logistics law. The freight detective offers an information finding resource on the world wide web for general interest and relating to transportation.
The site hosts the Cargo Letter, a widely read email only newsletter distributed by Countryman & McDaniel that covers international logistics issues. It is free to subscribe, and the site also offers a discussion board and a searchable library of current and past issues.
Other sections include transportation history, world trade and customs, a photo gallery of cargo loss, transportation reference and technical etc. There is also an excellent listing of transportation web cameras. It is well worth browsing the site for recreation or for specific needs. The only caveat is that it may be a little data heavy, but this only relates to images, which can be avoided.
