The site is also available in Turkish (link above). A lot of subjects are covered, such as the management of the Bosphorus straight, the world’s most dangerous waterway, in the light of increased traffic and nuclear waste shipments. Or the rise of flags of convenience in an increasingly competitive shipping market. There is a listing of events held in Turkey or of relevance to Turkish mariners, listing of IMPA (international Marine Pilots Association) resolutions, and a casualty report. Marine Care is an initiative by the Turkish Maritime Pilots’ Association to raise awareness of environmental issues. Links to information are available on the site, members add their name to the list and put the Marine Care banner on their site to spread the word. The software listing contains a lot of interesting free stuff from engine room simulators to kid’s education and a Titanic game. There’s even a story book of 20,000 leagues under the sea. A links page is open to anyone to add their own link. An excellent resource for anyone interested in Turkish matters.
