Being a privately owned company based in Nieuwendijk, The Netherlands, OceanSat started in 2005 as a distributor for Intellian satellite dishes and after significant growth in 2010 the name OceanSat came into existence. In this period OceanSat started the exploitation of Automatic Identification Systems (AIS) after regulations in different areas and is distributing worldwide. In 2011 OceanSat became an ISP for maritime data services as well.

OceanSat provides expert, impartial advice on satcomm equipment and airtime from all major VSAT airtime providers and satellite networks like Inmarsat, Iridium and Thuraya.
We advise our customers in obtaining the right combination of hardware and airtime of these networks, also in combination with a VSAT solution.
All hardware needed for connecting to these networks can be provided as we have Fleet Broadband (FB150, 250, 500), Iridium Pilot and Thuraya Satellite Terminal.

Intellian’s i, s, t, and w-Series are the most technologically advanced marine satellite television ‘receive only’ (TVRO) antennas in the world. From 11” (33 cm) to 50 inches (1.25 m), these antennas are engineered to receive Standard (SD) and High Definition (HD) TV programming from the major satellite providers around the world and operate in some of the harshest sea and weather conditions on the water.
Class A & Class B Automatic Identification Systems
The compact OceanSat Class A AIS system broadcasts and receives data in the VHF frequency band. The information that is received is displayed on the AIS screen but can also be linked to most chart system using ECDIS. The housing has been purposely designed for ease of fitting both as mounting or recessed installation. The user-friendly software is pre-installed, making the system completely plug & play.
The OceanSat Class B AIS is a small, high performance and feature rich AIS transceiver. Built on OceanSat’s next generation Cobalt Class B engine, this product offers maximum range and exceptionally efficient real time AIS message processing of all AIS message types. Built into a waterproof shell, the OceanSat Class B has an integrated 50 channel GPS receiver and antenna removing the need for an external GPS antenna in many installations. Dual NMEA0183 and NMEA2000 facilitate plug and play installation.
