The new product, an expanded version of Dualog's previous offering, will be named Connection Suite 4, and will feature a web-based user interface, and enhanced user services.
These include improved data integration and synchronisation, remote access, monitoring and configuration, a "web accelerator", ship tracking, e-mail, reporting, and a number of solutions for security and cost control.
The new product runs on an optimised communication kernel named DuaCore with intelligent routing algorithms, and is currently undergoing testing among Dualog's existing customer base.
The product will be launched as three editions. The first two, the Standard Edition and Premium Edition, will be released in 2008 with commercial roll-out starting February 1st, with a Master Edition planned for release in 2009.
"Connection Suite 4 is not just for those companies investing in VSAT or FleetBroadband or other always-on services," said Lars Martinussen, sales manager Europe and head of Dualog's Oslo office.
"In fact, the new solution provides many features that optimises ship-shore communication regardless of communication equipment which again means that investments already made will still prove valuable for years to come."
Dualog says that Connection Suite 4 will support all major communication systems, including Inmarsat-C, -A, -B and mini-M, the Inmarsat Fleet Series, Iridium, Thuraya, Globalstar, GSM data including GPRS/EDGE/3G, as well as other IP-based carriers like VSAT, WiFi and WiMax.
