Satpool currently has 8 employees, and OCS says that its 'solid customer base and complementary software products' will make this an important addition to its own organisation.

"Incorporating Satpool's products into our own product portfolio, we are one step closer to OCS? vision of being the leading software provider of HR and Inventory administration in the offshore and shipping market, both nationally and internationally," the company said.

Preliminary figures from OCS for 2007 have indicated a total turnover of NOK 35 million ($6.6 million), and revenues before taxes of NOK 6 million ($1.1 million).

"Both OCS and Satpool have extensive experience in this market, and all our staff are seniors within their respective fields. We know that this is much appreciated by our customers," said OCS CEO, Hans Petter Torsvik.

Irene Vik, managing director of Satpool, added: "We are very content with OCS as our new owner."
