Columbia signs up for DNV Navigator

Columbia Ship Management is to install the DNV Navigator system on 128 ships under its management.

This is the largest contract that DNV Maritime Partner, a fully owned subsidiary of Det Norske Veritas established in 2003 in Arendal, Norway, has signed to date.

DNV Navigator is an information system containing data taken from a number of maritime publications, and is automatically updated every week.

The database allows access to more than 900 forms required by local and national authorities? world wide, and the company says that it can be used to generate reports in minutes.

DNV Maritime Partner notes that 1,400 ships managed by 70 different companies are now using the system.
