Administracion Portuaria Integral De Quintana ROO, S.A. DEC. V. has selected Kongsberg Norcontrol IT to install a new Vessel Traffic System (VTS) on Cozumel, an island off the east coast of Mexico.
The contract will include one sensor site, which will be based on Isla Mujeres, north east of Cancun and one control centre and sensor site based on Cozumel.
The control station will use Kongsberg Norcontrol IT's VTMIS5060 software to ensure operators have a complete view of all vessel traffic in the specified maritime domain.
The system is expected to be online in June 2008.
