BlueFinger introduces LRIT system

  • Friday, 08 February 2008 | News

BlueFinger, the maritime division of Cybit Positioning Solutions, reports that it is to launch its new on-line vessel tracking service Saffire-Online in May 2008, with the aim of facilitating companies in the implementation of the latest IMO long-range Identification and Tracking (LRIT) regulations.

Saffire-Online is compatible with Inmarsat-C, D+ (IsatM2M), Iridium, Thuraya and other lsatellite communication systems, and the company says it can enable ship owners and operators to implement LRIT requirements without the additional cost of duplicating existing equipment.

The system also provides extra capabilities for monitoring and managing the fleet, with a detailed chart presentation of the information.

Reports of the passage of each vessel can be generated and e-mailed to managers while automatically providing the necessary reporting to the LRIT International Data Centres and to any other destinations that the ship owner may require.
