Orbit says that the OrSat maritime antenna system is the first compact system of its kind to receive both Intelsat (K2 & G) and the Eutelsat (EA-A033) type approvals. This allows OrSat to enter immediate operation with any of the Intelsat satellites, without the need for further field testing of each system.

"Obtaining Intelsat Type Approval for the OrSat system is a major milestone for our company," stated Orbit president and CEO, Dr Ehud Netzer.

"The Intelsat type approval follows the Eutelsat type approval granted during 2007. Furthermore, it expresses Orbit's dedication and commitment to our customers' needs, and we intend to continue this approach with other major satellite providers."
