The Vizada brand was created in June 2007, following Apax's takeover of FTMSC at the end of 2006. The combined company now has access to a worldwide network of more than 400 distribution partners, and becomes one of the world's largest providers of two-way satellite communications services.
Vizada says that it intends to organise its services into two lines of business, Mobile Satellite Services (MSS), offering standardised communications solutions, and Fixed Satellite Solutions (FSS), selling VSAT (very small aperture terminals) and integrated hybrid networks.
These will include satellite airtime products from suppliers such as Eutelsat, Inmarsat, Intelsat, Iridium, Loral, New Skies, SES Americom, and Thuraya
"Vizada combines the resources of talented employees, superior technology and global infrastructure to provide the best satellite communications solutions, service and support to each Vizada reseller and end-user, now and well into the future," said Vizada Group CEO and chairman Michael Collins after the announcement.
The new company has subsidiaries located in Europe and the United States, Latin America, the Middle East, North Africa, and the Pacific, and operates teleport facilities in the Czech Republic, France, Norway, Slovakia and the United States.
