ABB opens Marine Service Centre in Russia

ABB has opened a new marine service centre in Russia to support the company’s ship power, propulsion and automation technologies and expand service capabilities for ice-going vessels.

Marlink is teaming up with satellite designer and manufacturer Newtec to secure and enhance VSAT services for its maritime customers. 

Diesel power specialist Royston has enhanced its Eco Speed analysis capability as part of its enginei electronic fuel management system (EFMS) to enable ship operators to identify and maintain optimum vessel speeds for efficient fuel usage across different operational modes.

The UK’s largest and most sophisticated maritime simulation centre, situated at Solent University’s main campus in Southampton, was officially opened by Sir Michael Bibby Bt., DL, president of the UK Chamber of Shipping, on Tuesday 21 May 2019.

Maersk joins Traxens

A.P. Moller – Maersk and Traxens have announced that Maersk will be joining CMA CGM and MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company as a key shareholder and customer of Traxens.

Israel-based XT Management operates a fleet of vessels, consisting mostly of container ships. With expansion plans, the company is the latest to partner with Navarino in order to enhance its vessels’ connectivity solutions. Elon Musk’s SpaceX company has successfully launched all 60 Starlink satellites into orbit. The launch marks the start of a goal to provide global internet coverage across the world with short lag times in signal that is impossible for current satellites to accomplish.

Teekay Offshore has renewed and expanded its VSAT connectivity agreements with Marlink for a further four years.
