COVID-19 drives digital technology demand

A recent study by McKinsey has highlighted that responses to COVID-19 have speeded up the adoption of digital technologies by several years and suggests many of these changes could be here for the long haul.

The long-established processes and practices associated with bulk commodity shipping present distinct challenges. For cargo owners, they mean a lack of transparency – leading to significant inefficiency and waste. OceanSMART managing director Bryan Phillips explains how new technologies that digitise these methods are poised to change the entire industry.

Satcom Global has signed a strategic agreement with satellite solution provider Intellian, to take the new C700 Iridium Certus terminal to market. The agreement will see Satcom Global install a significant number of C700 terminals across its global customer base by the end of 2021, as part of an extensive volume commitment.

International Container Terminal Services (ICTSI), an international terminal operator, has signed on to connect its 31 terminals to the TradeLens platform.
