ClassNK begins ship efficiency project

ClassNK reports that it has started full scale ship tests to develop a feedback scheme on the impact of ship design on vessel performance in actual sea conditions.

ClassNK claims that it has released the world’s first software package for use with the new IACS Harmonized Common Structural Rules (CSR) for bulk carriers and oil tankers, which were released at the beginning of July 2012.

ClassNK and software provider NAPA have announced a collaboration agreement to provide a package for companies looking to implement a Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plan (SEEMP).
