Saipem implements DNV GL’s ShipManager Hull

Energy and infrastructure solution provider Saipem has announced plans to implement DNV GL’s hull planned maintenance system, ShipManager Hull, across five ships, based on 3D digital twins of crane and pipelaying vessels.

ABS is teaming up with Akselos, a specialist in digital twin technology, to explore how modelling and simulation can enhance the application of digital technologies to maritime assets.

MAN Energy Solutions has introduced a new digital platform, MAN CEON to collect and evaluate operating and sensor data and monitor in real-time marine engines, turbines and compressors.

Dutch maritime start-up We4Sea has secured funding from ENERGIIQ, Mainport Innovation Fund II and angel investors to accelerate development and roll out of its fuel and emissions monitoring platform.

A new initiative to create an open source digital platform for the creation of ‘digital twins’ for ships has been launched, with a ceremony at the Norwegian Maritime Competence Centre in Ålesund, Norway.
