Cyber security, alongside carbon emissions and safety, was identified as one of the top line agenda issues for the recently concluded annual Tripartite Shipbuilding Forum, supported by a range of shipping organisations including BIMCO, ICS, INTERTANKO, OCIMF, and IACS.

The second edition of The Guidelines on Cyber Security Onboard Ships has been released, compiled by a joint industry group led by BIMCO and now including new members OCIMF and IUMI, as well as original contributors CLIA, ICS, INTERCARGO and INTERTANKO.

Q88 hits version 4

The Questionnaire 88 (Q88), first issued in 1988 by INTERTANKO, has been revised for a new version 4 release, which includes the most up-to-date information for assessing vessel suitability and risk when chartering tankers.

BIMCO, the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS), Intercargo and INTERTANKO have announced that they are together developing standards and guidelines to address the major cyber security issues faced by the shipping industry.
