Maersk Training implements Kongsberg sims

Maersk Training’s new centre in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil is to implement integrated DP, navigation, and offshore operations simulators from Kongsberg Maritime.

Kongsberg Maritime has launched a new ECDIS Instructor Training course, designed to train captains and senior personnel, so they can train other officers and crew members in familiarisation of Kongsberg ECDIS on board vessels.

Kongsberg launches K-Master course

Kongsberg Maritime reports that it has completed development and the pilot course for a specialised training programme for offshore support vessel crews using its K-Master aft- and forward-bridge workstation.

The School of Simulation & Senior Marine at South Tyneside College in the UK is to install a range of upgraded navigation, engine room and Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) simulator hardware and software, supplied by Kongsberg Maritime.

Seacor Marine is to install Dynamic Positioning systems from Kongsberg Maritime on two new 190-foot CrewZer Class Crew boats (also known as fast supply vessels).

Superior simulator training

Superior Energy Services of Houston, Texas, has taken delivery of a new maritime training simulator from Kongsberg Maritime which will be used to provide integrated, real-time training for Superior’s offshore marine personnel at its new facility in Anchorage, Alaska.

Kongsberg buys software company

Kongsberg Maritime reports that it has acquired 100 per cent of the shares in fleet management software company Jotron Consultas, and will create a new product group consisting of all previous Jotron Consultas employees based at Kongsberg Maritime’s premises in Horten, Norway.

Sea trials testing a new Integrated Control System (ICS) developed by Kongsberg Maritime for Olympic Commander, a new Multi Purpose Supply Vessel (MPVS) built at Kleven Yard in Norway, have been successfully completed.
