Navico introduces new MARIS ECDIS

Following its acquisition of MARIS late last year, Navico has introduced the latest updates to the company's ECDIS systems, the MARIS ECDIS900 MK5 and MK15.

Formed in 2006 following the merger of Simrad Yachting and Lowrance Electronics, marine technology provider Navico has historically focused on the recreational marine sector, as the parent company of the Simrad, Lowrance and B&G brands. While it has had some presence in commercial maritime, the consumer market has up until now been its primary market.

Navico acquires MARIS

Navico Holding, parent company to the Simrad brand of maritime navigation systems, has announced that it has reached an agreement to acquire ECDIS manufacturer MARIS (Maritime Information Systems) from The Grieg Group.

Admiralty Vector Chart Service in Maris PAYS

MARIS today announced that it has integrated the Admiralty Vector Chart Service (AVCS) into its Pay As You Sail (PAYS) services.

Otesat-Maritel, a provider of satcom services based in Greece, has announced a cooperation agreement with Norwegian developer MARIS to add MARIS ECDIS equipment to the products and services in its Bridge Equipment portfolio.

ECDIS and VSAT integrated

MARIS and Orange Business Services report that they have formalised an agreement to deliver ECDIS and maritime digital services directly to navigators via a fully-managed Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) network.

Maris has announced that it has trained and certified engineers in Imtech Marine’s service network covering US and Caribbean ports to install, commission and support its ECDIS900-series.

MARIS to deliver 30 ECDIS units to Turkey
