Singapore MPA signs 3D printing agreements

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) has announced two new agreements to bring 3D printing capabilities to the port, having signed MoUs covering the creation of an additive manufacturing production facility for port applications, and the launch of a Joint Industry Programme (JIP) for additive manufacturing of marine parts.

Wärtsilä has opened a new International Maritime Cyber Centre of Excellence (IMCCE) in Singapore, consisting of a Maritime Cyber Emergency Response Team (MCERT) and a cyber academy, created in conjunction with its new cyber security strategic partner, Templar Executives.

Wärtsilä has signed a partnership deal with the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) to promote maritime innovation and R&D, covering four different streams: digital acceleration, cyber-physical security, intelligent vessels and port operations.

Fujitsu, Singapore Management University (SMU), and A*STAR’s Institute of High Performance Computing (IHPC) have announced a collaboration agreement to develop new technologies for vessel traffic management at the Port of Singapore, with the support of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) is set to launch a new Maritime Transformation Programme (MTP) and Singapore Maritime Data Hub (SG-MDH), as part of its efforts to build a support ecosystem for innovation and R&D in the port city.

MPA extends digital services

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) has expanded its range of digital services for ships visiting the port, as the organisation reaffirmed its commitment to keeping Singapore at the forefront of technological innovation in the maritime sector.

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and Shell Eastern Trading have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to cooperate in the research and development and test-bedding of maritime projects in areas including clean fuel technologies, automation and digitalisation.

The International Maritime Centre (IMC) 2030 Advisory Committee, established by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) in August 2016, has submitted its IMC 2030 Strategic Review report to the Singapore government, outlining the city-state’s vision to create a Global Maritime Hub for connectivity, innovation and talent.
