Marlink reports that it has added a new satellite to its VSAT network, expanding its footprint in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR) and adding additional Ku-band capacity for ships transiting southern routes between Asia and Africa, as well as fishing vessels operating east of Africa’s coastline and out towards the Maldives and Seychelles.
Marlink and Seagull Maritime have partnered to develop a satcom-enabled online environment for the distribution and updating of e-learning material for ships at sea, with the aim of automating content management on board.
