Marlink Universal Card updated

Marlink has introduced its new Universal Card Go, a multi-band prepaid card for crew internet access and voice calling that can be used across all Marlink VSAT and MSS services, including the recently introduced 1GB plans offered with separate prepaid crew access.

Carisbrooke agrees Marlink VSAT deal

Carisbrooke Shipping has agreed a deal to install Marlink Ku-band VSAT on its fleet of dry cargo and multi-purpose vessels. Delivery is expected to be complete by the end of the year.

The commercial satellite communication division of Airbus Defence and Space, which is in the process of being sold to Apax Partners, is being re-branded, taking on the Marlink name to cover both indirect and direct sales in the future.

Marlink has signed a deal to continue as the Global Sponsor of the Digital Ship conference and exhibition series in 2016, for a third year running.

Airbus Group has announced that it has signed an agreement with French private equity firm, Apax Partners, for the sale of 100 per cent of its commercial satellite communication business, including direct sales arm Marlink and all reseller contracts.

Marlink reports that it has completed the deployment of VSAT services for Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) aboard the largest containership ever built, with MSC Zoe joining 130 other MSC vessels using Marlink VSAT services.

Maridrive upgrades its VSAT package

Egypt headquartered Maridive Group is to migrate 24 of its Offshore Support Vessels from Marlink’s entry level VSAT service package to its WaveCall Plus service, as well as equipping one additional new build vessel with the communications system.

Greece-based Eastern Mediterranean Maritime Limited (EASTMED), a shipping company servicing the energy, industrial and agricultural sectors, is to install a VSAT communication system from Marlink with L-band back-up on 20 tankers and bulkers.

BP agrees fleet wide VSAT deal

BP Shipping has agreed a new global multi-band VSAT deal with Marlink covering its entire tanker fleet.
