Marlink has signed a strategic partnership agreement with maritime IT provider Palantir, which will see Palantir’s products added to Marlink's portfolio of satcoms and value added services.

In a surprise move, Airbus Defence and Space has announced that it plans to sell off its commercial satellite communications business, including its maritime satcom business and direct sales subsidiary Marlink.

Marlink WaveCall Plus VSAT for 17 UASC newbuilds

Marlink reports that United Arab Shipping Company (UASC) has selected its WaveCall Plus VSAT services for 17 newbuild containerships, the first of which is due for delivery by the end of the year.

Marlink has announced that Scorpio Ship Management (SSM) has chosen its WaveCall Ku-band VSAT services for 75 newbuild tankers and bulkers to be delivered throughout 2015 and 2016.

Marlink to upgrade 27 Stena ferries

Marlink today announced that it has been contracted by Stena Line to roll out its customised Ku-band VSAT service, Sealink, on 27 ferries operating in Scandinavia, the Irish Sea and the North Sea.

Bandwidth boost enables Atlantic broadcast

The French Research Institute for Exploitation of the Sea, known as Ifremer, has conducted a live video broadcast and conference from the mid-Atlantic during an educational event called ‘Night of the Abyss’, after Marlink enabled a temporary 1.5 Mbps bandwidth increase for the research vessel 'Pourquoi pas?'.

Marlink migrates Neste Oil fleet to iDirect

Marlink has announced that it is installing new VSAT antennas on all eight Neste Oil vessels and migrating the fleet to the iDirect platform.
