Orolia buys Netwave

Orolia, the owner of the McMurdo and Kannad brands, has entered into an agreement to acquire Netherlands-based Netwave Systems, a supplier of Voyage Data Recorders (VDRs), automated vessel monitoring products and safety services.

McMurdo wins UK SAR upgrade contract

Orolia, through its McMurdo brand, has been awarded a contract by the UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) for nationwide enhancements to its existing Search and Rescue (SAR) satellite technology, that will allow the MCA to operate with the new Medium-altitude Earth Orbit Search and Rescue (MEOSAR) satellites that are currently being deployed.

$3m USCG PLB deal for McMurdo

MEOSAR knowledge portal launched

McMurdo has launched a web-based MEOSAR Knowledge Centre, an information portal for those wanting to learn more about the MEOSAR (Medium Earth Orbit Search and Rescue) project, the next generation version of the Cospas-Sarsat international search and rescue (SAR) satellite system that has helped to save more than 40,000 lives since 1982.

Techno-Sciences, Inc. (TSi), a subsidiary of search and rescue (SAR) systems provider McMurdo Group, reports that it has secured contracts totaling almost €5 million with the governments of Cyprus, Brunei and Argentina, as well as with NASA in the United States.

A McMurdo company has won a €13 million contract to provide MEOSAR (Medium-altitude Earth Orbit Search and Rescue) installations in Australia and New Zealand.

McMurdo Group has announced that it has integrated Iridium GO! into its fleet management software.

McMurdo completes acquisition of TSi

Orolia’s McMurdo Group today announced that it has completed the acquisition of Techno-Sciences, Inc. (TSi), a provider of SAR satellite ground stations, saying that it will allow it to become the world’s number one provider of end-to-end search-and-rescue solutions.

McMurdo’s Boatracs goes global

McMurdo Group today announced that its fleet management software platform is now available worldwide for partners to integrate into their existing maritime applications and solutions. Previously, the software was only sold in North America under the brand Boatracs, which is now part of the McMurdo Group.
