Medical ship gets nav and comms overhaul

The Vine Trusts’ latest medical ship, MV Forth Hope, is to be outfitted with a new navigation and communications system by Ships Electronic Services (SES) ahead of an upcoming project in the Peruvian Amazon.

Rolls-Royce has signed a contract worth about £25 million with the ship building company Kleven in Norway for design and supply of ship equipment to two new Hurtigruten polar cruise vessels, with an option for two additional vessels, to include a complete redesign of the ship bridge environment with a Rolls-Royce Unified Bridge.

German research vessel selects Voyager

Global Navigation Solutions (GNS) reports that Briese Schiffahrt has chosen Voyager navigation software for its new research vessel, the RV Sonne.

German shipping company Jüngerhans has signed a contract with software and service provider INTERSCHALT for the maintenance of navigation and communications systems on board its 20-ship fleet.

L-3 Marine Systems International (L-3 MSI) announced today that it has been awarded a contract to provide automation, navigation and communication functions to a ship expected to become the world's first ferry to operate on locally supplied biogas.

L-3 Marine Systems International (L-3 MSI) reports that it has supplied its NACOS Platinum navigation system to a Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) ship which recently entered service.

The German navigation system manufacturer Raytheon Anschütz, together with its Norwegian distributor Syberg, has been awarded a contract for the supply of a Synapsis Integrated Navigation System (INS) to two new windpark service vessels.
