McMurdo wins UK SAR upgrade contract

Orolia, through its McMurdo brand, has been awarded a contract by the UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) for nationwide enhancements to its existing Search and Rescue (SAR) satellite technology, that will allow the MCA to operate with the new Medium-altitude Earth Orbit Search and Rescue (MEOSAR) satellites that are currently being deployed.

Port Saint John to add new VTMS

Xanatos Marine has agreed a contract with Port Saint John in New Brunswick, Canada, to install a multi-layer Vessel Traffic Monitoring System (VTMS) to improve maritime domain awareness.

Raytheon Anschütz, via its Norwegian distributor Syberg AS, has been awarded a contract for the supply of its Synapsis Integrated Navigation System (INS) to a new windfarm service vessel being built for Danish shipowner ESVAGT.

Malaysia deal for Radio Holland

Radio Holland Malaysia (RHM) has agreed a contract with Destini Shipbuilding & Engineering for the supply of navigation and communication equipment to six New Generation Patrol Craft (NGPC) being built for the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA).

British ferry company P&O Ferries, an operator of ferries sailing from the UK to Ireland and Continental Europe, has selected GNS to provide navigation products and services for its fleet of 15 vessels.

Kongsberg Maritime is to install a range of technology systems aboard Australian cruise line Scenic Cruises’ new ice class cruise ship, the 228-passenger, 168 metre long Scenic Eclipse, which is currently under construction at Uljanik Shipyard in Croatia ahead of expected delivery during 2018.

Thome Ship Management and Radio Holland Singapore have concluded a Service Rate Agreement (SRA) covering the service and maintenance of the navigation and communication systems on board Thome’s entire fleet of more than 200 vessels.

Shipping company GC Rieber has signed a fleet-wide agreement with NAVTOR for the supply of navigation services, data and publications, spanning both paper and digital deliveries, across its seismic and offshore ships.
