Kongsberg agrees systems deal for CMAL ferries

Kongsberg Maritime has been awarded NOK 160 Million (approximately US$19 million) in Engineering, Procurement, Construction & Installation (EPCI) contracts covering two 100 metre ferries under construction for Caledonian Maritime Assets Ltd (CMAL), including supply of all navigation and radio/satellite communications systems.

EMSA awards satellite AIS contract

LuxSpace and its partner ORBCOMM have agreed a four-year satellite Automatic Identification System (AIS) data service framework contract with the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA), to be used for maritime safety and ship monitoring.

JRC and Alphatron Marine have completed the delivery of integrated bridge systems to the double ended passenger ferry Texelstroom, built at La Naval Shipyard in Bilbao, Spain.

Radio Holland reports that it has been awarded a 10-vessel Managed Service Agreement (MSA) from ALP Maritime Services BV, part of the Teekay Offshore group, to support the navigation and communications systems on board its ships.

Lake Express gets new JRC radar

JRC reports that it has installed the world’s smallest IMO compliant Solid State S-band radar with 8-ft antenna for the high speed car/passenger ferry Lake Express.

Rolls-Royce has signed a contract worth about £25 million with the ship building company Kleven in Norway for design and supply of ship equipment to two new Hurtigruten polar cruise vessels, with an option for two additional vessels, to include a complete redesign of the ship bridge environment with a Rolls-Royce Unified Bridge.

Radio Holland has completed two bridge refit contracts for Holland America Line on the cruise ships Oosterdam and Prinsendam, following on from similar refit work on M/S Noordam and Westerdam in 2014 and 2015.

Radio Holland Canada reports that it has won two contracts to supply navigation and communications equipment to the Canadian Coast Guard.
