Spliethoff to roll out AST VSAT on 80 vessels

Dutch shipping company Spliethoff has signed a deal with AST Marine Networks, a division of The AST Group (AST), to supply global VSAT and L-band satellite communications to approximately 80 vessels across its multiple fleets.

Panasonic Avionics Corporation, via its ITC Global subsidiary, has announced that it has been awarded a four-year contract by TUI Cruises for connectivity services on board two newbuild cruise ships, Mein Schiff 1 and new Mein Schiff 2.

Panasonic Global Communications and Newtec have unveiled a new high bandwidth satellite modem which will be offered to Panasonic customers with the promise of being able to provide twenty times the bandwidth of Panasonic’s current system.

Panasonic and Yahsat sign Middle East MOU

Panasonic Avionics and Yahsat have announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to work together in offering broadband services to mobility markets in the Middle East within the next three to five years.

Panasonic begins maritime play

Panasonic Avionics Corporation (Panasonic) has announced that it is to begin offering its broadband communications and digital entertainment services to passenger vessels across the maritime market.

Panasonic Avionics Corporation has signed a multi-year contract with Telesat for HTS Ku-band satellite capacity on maritime routes over Europe, the Mediterranean, Middle East and the North Sea, extending an existing agreement between the companies.

Panasonic Avionics Corporation and Kymeta Corporation have announced a new agreement to work together to bring flat panel antenna technology for VSAT communications to maritime markets.

Panasonic Avionics Corporation is stretching into the maritime sector following a Strategic Cooperation Agreement with OmniAccess.
