Port data integration from Transas

Transas has partnered with Shipping Guides Ltd to incorporate port data into its Navi-Planner 4000 voyage planning solution.

BlackBerry to target shipping industry

BlackBerry has revealed plans to develop technology for the shipping industry with the launch of its new Internet of Things (IoT) platform, announced at last week’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas by CEO John Chen.

IMO to introduce digital directives

Port database for tankers

Shipping Guides Ltd has launched a new digital database designed specifically for the tanker sector. FindaportCD: Tanker will deliver in-depth port information to the desktop without the need for a satellite connection.

Dutch companies BMT ARGOSS and Charta Software have partnered to develop METRIS, a tool to analyse a port’s approach channel and offer guidance on nautical depth requirements.

Navigator Port 2 released

DNV GL today announced the release of Navigator Port 2, the latest version of its port clearance software.

The EU-backed SUPPORT (Security UPgrade for PORTS) project reports that it will be demonstrating some "practical results" from its programme to develop technologies to improve port security at an event in Sweden in May.
