Torque monitoring data system launched by ABB

ABB is adding a new torque monitoring system called Torductor Marine to its Marine Software portfolio, designed to assist in optimising engine and fuel efficiency in the maritime sector.

Shell Marine has added a new software package called Marine Connect  to its Shell LubeMonitor cylinder monitoring service, designed to enhance data management and reporting functions.

The China Navigation Company (CNCo) has agreed a maintenance and remote monitoring contract with Radio Holland covering 35 vessels.

Radio Holland reports that it has been awarded a 10-vessel Managed Service Agreement (MSA) from ALP Maritime Services BV, part of the Teekay Offshore group, to support the navigation and communications systems on board its ships.

Wärtsilä and Rederiaktiebolaget Eckerö have extended their long-term maintenance agreement for Eckerö's entire fleet of five vessels, which will see Wärtsilä extend the use of its digital maintenance concepts.

Global Navigation Solutions has announced a tie-up with Orange Business Services to offer combined packages which will include VSAT services and GNS’ navigation software systems on a subscription basis.

Norwegian marine geophysical company PGS has extended its non-exclusive service agreement with Radio Holland for navigation and communication services onboard nine seismic vessels in its global fleet.

ABB is opening a new Integrated Operations Centre in Singapore, the third facility of its type, which will allow the company’s engineers to ‘follow the sun’ and move towards the provision of remote support around the clock.

Following successful trials on the Iceni Conquest, UK-based AST Marine Sciences Ltd (MSL) has been awarded a contract to install its iRAMS remote vessel management package and AST-Planned Maintenance System software on board the Iceni Marine Services’ fleet of vessels.
