Intelsat and Thales Alenia Space have signed an agreement to build two software-defined satellites designed to advance Intelsat’s global fabric of software-defined GEO connectivity as part of its 5G software-defined network.

SES-17 successfully launched on Ariane 5

Multi-mission Ka-band satellite SES-17 has been successfully launched into space onboard an Ariane 5 launcher from the Europe’s spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana.

Inmarsat’s strategic partner BSNL has received the necessary licenses to deliver Inmarsat’s Global Xpress (GX) mobile broadband services in India.

Danish satellite operator Sternula recently signed a partnership agreement with the maritime authority in Ghana to strengthen maritime navigation and safety in West Africa. The project has now officially kicked off with the goal to catalyse future distribution of next generation AIS technology.
