WinGD standardises digital data with Shipdex

Marine engine designer Winterthur Gas & Diesel (WinGD) has announced its intention to begin supplying technical documentation in accordance with Shipdex standards, a set of specifications for digital data exchange adapted for the maritime sector from the S1000D specification applied in the aerospace and defence industry.

BIMCO has signed an agreement with Shipdex to support the development and exchange of technical and logistics data across the shipping community, a deal which will also see BIMCO become an executive member of the Shipdex steering committee.

Rolls-Royce adds to Shipdex product list

Rolls-Royce Marine reports that it has successfully implemented Shipdex as the data standard for technical manuals for its Kamewa Propellers and associated control systems.

Rolls-Royce Marine has reported that it has successfully implemented the Shipdex protocol, for use as the data standard for its S-series Kamewa Waterjets and associated control systems.

Shipdex course in Busan

Italian developer SpecTec reports that a technical seminar on how to import Shipdex data into its AMOS software was held at the Korean Maritime University (KMU).

Italian ship equipment manufacturer Pompe Garbarino has announced that it will now provide its technical manuals in Shipdex format.

AMOS for MAN PrimeServ Academy

MAN Diesel & Turbo has agreed a deal to use AMOS software from SpecTec as a training tool at the MAN PrimeServ Academy in Copenhagen.

Cyprus based Mastermind Shipmanagement Ltd, with assistance from software provider SpecTec, is to create a direct interactive link between the Mastermind and MAN Diesel & Turbo AMOS databases.

Grieg Star to implement Shipdex dataset

Grieg Star has contracted SpecTec to build a new AMOS ship database, importing a Shipdex dataset for new crane equipment delivered by MacGregor.
