UMMI to install simulators

Unitra Maritime Manila Inc. (UMMI) in the Philippines is to install a VSTEP simulator classroom, to be delivered by local VSTEP partner Poseidon Asia.

The Australian Maritime College has completed a AUS$1.4 million upgrade of its simulation training technology, including the world’s first installation of Panasonic’s ultra-high resolution 4K Full Mission Bridge Simulation Projection System.

Kongsberg Maritime has sold off its Kongsberg GlobalSim land-segment crane simulation subsidiary, to narrow its focus towards maritime and offshore simulation only.

Independence Seaport Museum in the United States has acquired two NAUTIS Museum Simulators, offering their visitors the chance to experience historical events on the Delaware river and see how the waterway developed into a highway for trade and commerce.

HELMEPA adds simulator for member training

HELMEPA, the non-profit marine environment protection association situated in Athens, Greece, has installed a simulator and instructor station at its premises for training of its fleet members.

Kongsberg Maritime reports that it has completed the delivery and installation of a set of new bridge simulators for Indonesia’s Ministry of Transportation.

Transas agrees MoU with XVR Simulation

Transas has announced a new strategic cooperation with Dutch company XVR Simulation, to leverage XVR’s technology to expand Transas’ maritime training capabilities and to deploy common projects in the safety and security simulation market.

Modal Training, a UK provider of integrated multimodal logistics training, has invested in a package of ship, offshore vessel, engine room and radar simulators from Kongsberg Maritime for its new £7 million centre of excellence in Immingham, set to open in September 2016.
