Transport and logistics specialist Inlecom Systems has reported the launch of i-Ship, a new software application that the company claims will speed up ship reporting processes with European and International maritime and custom authorities.

eMAR, a marine transport project part-funded by the EU, has announced the completion of its e-Maritime Strategic Framework (EMSF), which has been designed to enhance IT-based cooperation in the maritime sector.

IMO to introduce digital directives

Following a five-year review, the IMO Facilitation Committee has approved amendments to the Convention on Facilitation of International Maritime Traffic, 1965, which will introduce the mandatory electronic exchange of information on cargo, crew and passengers.
