Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) has agreed a deal with BMT SMART to install BMT’s vessel performance monitoring system on four VLCCs under construction for a Greek owner, in addition to similar recently contracted orders to outfit seven Suezmax and Aframax tankers being built for Norwegian and Singaporean owners.

Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha (“K” Line) reports that it has agreed a deal to implement the ‘Optimum Weather Routing System’ developed by Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI) across all of the managed vessels in its fleet.

OSM Maritime agrees CFM deal

Ship management company OSM Maritime Group has agreed a deal to implement the Cloud Fleet Manager (CFM) software system from Hamburg-based Hanseaticsoft to support digitalisation of company processes and management of organisational data.

Container shipping giant CMA CGM has signed a strategic partnership with technology consulting firm Infosys, with the goal of transforming CMA CGM’s IT applications and processes over a seven-year period.

CMA to roll out ERP system to 170 ships

Container shipping line CMA Ships (part of the CMA CGM group), based in Marseille, France, has agreed a deal to implement the PAL e3 maritime ERP software package from Singapore-based MariApps Marine Solutions across its fleet.

France-based company Opsealog has announced the completion of Proof of Concept (POC) testing of its maritime fuel efficiency analytics platform in partnership with TOTAL E&P Angola, reporting an 11.5 per cent reduction in fuel consumed over a 6-month period across the fleet of 15 vessels included in the trial.

Tarbit newbuilds to implement SERTICA

Swedish tanker company Tarbit Shipping has agreed a deal with Martech Systems to manage data structuring and implementation of the SERTICA software package from Logimatic on two ships under construction at a shipyard in Turkey.

Shipping company Vroon has signed a fleetwide agreement with training provider Seagull Maritime, to implement a range of training systems across its fleet as well as for shore based personnel.

The freight ferry Stena Scotia, operated by Stena Line, has completed implementation of ABB’s DEGO IV speed governor and actuation software package, used to control the vessel’s propulsion system and reduce fuel consumption by minimising roll and rudder movements.
