Carnival UK is to implement a new electronic document management software (EDMS) system from Filestream to manage seafarer employment agreements (SEAs) for crews working on two of its cruise brands, Cunard Line and P&O Cruises.

JF Mimic, part of James Fisher and Sons, has signed an agreement to supply its Mimic condition monitoring software to Stolt Tankers, for installation on its fleet of 75 vessels and on shore at its head office.

Asia Maritime Pacific rolls out e-Learning

Asia-based dry bulk shipping company Asia Maritime Pacific (AMP) has agreed a deal with Seagull Maritime to roll out onboard e-Learning training systems across its fleet of more than 40 Handysize and minibulker vessels.

Kinnetik Solutions, a maritime e-Commerce company founded as a replacement for the discontinued MarineLink system, reports that it has now passed the milestone of having 5,000 online suppliers as it approaches the end of its third month in operation.

Sinochem has agreed two separate software deals to add new systems across its entire fleet of chemical tankers, having agreed a contract to implement DNV GL’s fleet management software ShipManager while also signing a long-term agreement with Seagull Maritime to deliver onboard training.

Nor Lines and Rolls-Royce have signed a novel ‘Power-by-the-Hour’ service agreement for the two vessels Kvitbjørn and Kvitnos, which will use Big Data technologies to monitor, plan and perform maintenance and repairs on all the equipment installed on the cargo ships.

Maran Tankers to implement Q88 software

Maran Tankers Management has selected Q88’s Cloud-based voyage management system, Q88VMS, to manage the company’s chartering and commercial operations.

Wuhan University of Technology (WUT) in China has partnered with Navis to implement the MACS3 ship loading computer and the Navis StowMan stowage planning program at its training facilities to be used in the education of prospective nautical officers.

Indonesian deal for BASS software

Maritime software provider BASS has agreed a deal with shipping company and shipyard PT Usda Seroja Jaya (Usda) in Indonesia, to deploy BASS applications in Usda offices to support its fleet of 70 tugs and barges and its shipyard operations.

Hadi Hammad Al Hammam Group, a service provider to the oil and gas industry based in Saudi Arabia, has completed the implementation of the ABS NS fleet management software package to assist in managing its OSV fleet.
