The new builds will be delivered by STX Offshore and Shipbuilding Co. by September 2016.

Kongsberg will deliver integrated vessel control systems including navigation, communication, and automation of machinery and propulsion systems. The scope of supply also includes a tank monitoring and gauging system. In addition, a vessel performance system will monitor fuel usage and energy efficiency and provide decision support on optimal sailing.

“Kongsberg Maritime is proud that BP Shipping and STX Offshore and Shipbuilding Co selected ‘Full Picture’ technology solutions for this massive new building programme,” said Leif Kristian Weum, sales manager Merchant Marine, Kongsberg Maritime.

“We have experienced significant success with our integrated approach to marine technology in the Merchant Marine market, and continue to see the ‘Full Picture’ chosen for control and management of the world’s most advanced ships.”
