The shipyards are Jiangdong, Sanfu, China Merchants Heavy Industry (Shenzhen), Fujian Mawei, Chengxi Shipbuilding, Cosco Dalian, Zhejiang Ouhua, Zhejiang Yangfan and Zhejiang Zengzhou. They placed the orders through four Danelec licensed distributors in China.
Danelec says that all of the 48 VDRs will be delivered for newbuilds over the next 12 months.
The Danish equipment manufacturer also announced today that it has opened an office in Shanghai.
“Our new office in Shanghai will enable us to provide faster and more efficient service and technical support for our rapidly growing business in China,” said Hans Ottosen, CEO of Danelec Marine.
“China represents an important growth market for our business, as can plainly be seen from the surge of orders already being placed for our new IMO-compliant VDRs ahead of the July 1 deadline.”
