IC-ENC to provide ECDIS software for chart data validation

The International Centre for ENCs (IC-ENC) is to provide its 37 member nations with ChartWorld eGlobe G2 ECDIS software from SevenCs to supplement ENC production and validation processes.

{mprestriction ids="1,2"}The systems will allow member Hydrographic Offices to load their ENCs into an ECDIS to check the display from the user’s perspective, as well as offering the opportunity to assess the chart’s interoperability with adjacent data.

The software will be supplied to member nations as required following attendance at an IC-ENC international ENC validation training course, three of which have been held so far this year, in the UK, Australia and Panama.

The training course runs for a period of two weeks, and runs through the ENC validation process from start to finish, as well as providing an overview of IC-ENC’s core services: ENC production support, ENC distribution and ENC revenue management.

IC-ENC will be holding three further training courses in 2016.{/mprestriction}
