Chemgas support contract for Alphatron Marine

Alphatron Marine has agreed a new contract with Chemgas Shipping covering shipboard equipment maintenance and optimisation for eight gas carriers.

{mprestriction ids="1,2"}Situated in Rotterdam, Chemgas Shipping operates a fleet of inland, seagoing and sea/river-going vessels specialising in the transport of LPG, with trading routes stretches from the Baltic Sea to North Africa.

Alphatron Marine will be supporting and maintaining the bridge equipment, navigation systems and communication hardware on board these ships. The contract also covers equipment and services subject to mandatory annual certifications and inspections, as well as life cycle support.

Alphatron Marine’s vessel support services are managed out of Centres of Excellence in Tokyo, Rotterdam, Singapore and Houston.{/mprestriction}

  • JRC/Alphatron Marine reintroduces Marcom-A and ECDIS type specific training

    JRC/Alphatron Marine has installed new VSTEP simulators at its training facility in Rotterdam and re-introduced ECDIS Type Specific Training and Marcom-A training.

    The ECDIS Type Specific Training for both JRC and Wärtsilä (Transas) ECDIS is offered for an international audience in English and provides the required knowledge for the general use of the ECDIS as well as a detailed introduction to the system’s features.

    For ECDIS training, JRC/Alphatron Marine requires that the trainee has adequate experience on ECDIS and has accomplished the IMO Model Course 1.27

    The Marcom-A training represents the General Operating Certificate which allows users to operate maritime radio transmission equipment. Other facets of this study include the international GMDSS regulations, compulsory books, emergency procedures and daily use of the onboard equipment. Marcom-A training will be given only in Dutch and is certified by Dutch authority ILenT.
