Danelec VDRs for 20 VARD newbuilds

Danelec Marine and its distributor Telemar Norway report that they have agreed a deal for the supply of DM100 Voyage Data Recorders (VDRs) to 20 new vessels being built by VARD.

{mprestriction ids="1,2"}Headquartered in Norway and with approximately 9,000 employees, VARD operates nine shipyards, including five in Norway, two in Romania, one in Brazil and one in Vietnam. The VDRs are being installed on 20 new module carrier vessels under construction at the shipyards in Romania and Vietnam.

The vessels have been specially developed by VARD Design to navigate the shallow river systems they will encounter transporting modules through the Russian waterways to oilfields in Kazakhstan.

The DM100 VDR incorporates Danelec’s SoftWare Advanced Protection (SWAP) technology and has built-in layers of cyber security, the company says.{/mprestriction}
