Buzz Marine is supplying its HubbaX4 Go marine broadband systems to five vessels from the UK’s Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority (IFCA), providing the ships with 4G connectivity while at sea.

{mprestriction ids="1,2"}The vessels, belonging to four of the regional IFCAs, are used in fisheries and conservation management. The system deployed consists of an antenna connected to a HubbaX4 router located below deck to create a Wi-Fi hotspot, which up to 32 devices can connect to simultaneously.

Buzz Marine says the system is designed to operate across 4G, 3G or 2G networks and can deliver download speeds up to 100Mbps.

“The regional IFCAs play a very important role in championing and managing a sustainable marine environment and inshore fisheries and it’s imperative the crews have reliable voice and broadband data connection while they are on patrol,” said Steve Smith, Buzz Marine managing director.

“The HubbaX4 Go is designed and built specifically for the rigours of the marine environment and will provide the IFCAs with a cost effective alternative to maritime satellite communications.”{/mprestriction}
