Marlink completes Palantir acquisition

Marlink reports that it has completed the acquisition of Palantir, a Norway-based company specialising in remote IT management systems for the maritime sector.

{mprestriction ids="1,2"}The Share Purchase Agreement whereby Marlink acquired 100 per cent of the shares in Palantir AS was completed on March 17, 2017. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Palantir provides remote support and management of on board IT networks, and already had a close relationship with Marlink through a strategic partnership agreement between the companies agreed in September 2014.

That partnership has seen Marlink deliver integrated IT management services alongside its Sealink VSAT communications service to customers including Stolt Tankers and CMA CGM.

“Together, Marlink, Telemar and Palantir will offer an incredibly diverse service portfolio, supporting the shipping industry with state-of-the art communications, IT and electronics solutions from a single global and highly experienced organisation" said Tore Morten Olsen, president maritime, Marlink.{/mprestriction}
