Oldendorff engages Sea IT for project rollout

Oldendorff Carriers, one of the world's largest dry bulk shipping companies, has signed a new strategic agreement with Swedish company Sea IT to manage ICT installations on approximately 80 vessels, followed by a three-year service contract.

{mprestriction ids="1,2"}The deal follows the completion of a proof of concept period in late 2017, which has now proceeded  to a full rollout on approximately 80 ships in the approximately 700-strong Oldendorff fleet.

“Through this agreement with Sea IT we will be able to increase our operational efficiency,” said Kay Conrad, IT fleet manager at Oldendorff.

“We set out to find a secure and future-adaptable IT communications solution for our fleet. We are very pleased to have entered in to this long-term agreement with Sea IT, who are true experts in their field and fully understood our fleet IT requirements.”

Sea IT has designed the system to be installed, and will manage all critical elements of the project including cyber security and endpoint security.

“We have worked closely with Oldendorff Carriers and set up their fleet cyber security system rules to conform with their corporate rules for cyber security,” said Kristian Ryberg, CEO at Sea IT.

“We are their technical partner making sure they meet their objectives and adhere to regulations now and in the future.”{/mprestriction}
