Port-IT develops cybersecurity assessment tool

Maritime cybersecurity expert Port-IT has developed a cybersecurity tool to assist companies with their risk assessment by helping them gain insights about the level of protection onboard their vessels.

{mprestriction ids="1,2"} The cybersecurity assessment tool is free of charge and helps companies to understand and manage potential cyber threats internally. It consists of 3 components; a questionnaire, an automatically generated preliminary score based on the answers given in the questionnaire, and a customised ‘profile’.

The profile is personally written by one of Port-IT’s certified security engineers, and completely tailored to the customer, offering guidance and recommendations to shipowners and operators on procedural measures to protect against cybersecurity incidents and ensure the continuity of the vessel’s operations.

According to Port IT, the maritime industry is actively being targeted at increasingly higher rates with better and stronger attacks. While connections and their speed are keeping up, cybersecurity on many vessels is lacking. To safeguard business continuity, it is vital that shipowners are aware of the level of protection onboard their vessels.

The questionnaire is available via this link https://sec.port-it.com/login  {/mprestriction}
