Crosby Tugs to implement NS Workboat software

Crosby Tugs has agreed a deal to implement the Nautical Systems (NS) mobile compliance software system from classification society ABS to manage compliance with Subchapter M regulatory requirements across its fleet of tugboats.

{mprestriction ids="1,2"}The NS Workboat application can be used by crews to record compliance data and generate safety reports on mobile devices while carrying out routine operations.

The application is optimised for tablets and also available on smartphones, with no additional installed software required. Ship and shore collaboration is accomplished via the Cloud, and offline work modes are available that automatically sync to the office when the device is connected to the internet.

“The inland industry was pressed to find a simple and effective way to manage all compliance data required by the Subchapter M regulation,” said ABS Nautical Systems COO, Stephen Schwarz.

“NS Workboat is designed to be as intuitive and familiar as the mobile apps you already use; it also provides a platform for better teamwork between crew on board and personnel in the office.”

NS Workboat includes pre-built ISM data sets for items such as planned maintenance jobs; meeting, inspection and drill jobs; and an inspected equipment list. The software is also equipped with a fleet calendar view for compliance plan tracking and management.{/mprestriction}
